On Friday November 18th, after eight days of Yoga Retreat in Watamu, we have organised for the yoga students a trip to the National Park of Tsavo. This is an optional trip and has to be booked with us separately.

Tsavo is nearly 22,000km2 area, being the largest national park in Kenya and one of the largest in the world. It is known for bird life and for its large mammal’s e.g. Black Rhino, Cape Buffalo, Elephant, Leopard, Hippo and Masai Lion. There are also other smaller animals that can be spotted in the park, such as the Bush Baby, Hartebeest, Lesser Kudu and Maasai Giraffe.

Trip to Bigi’s Safari Camp at Tsavo and program

The location of the Bigi’s Safari Camp has been selected as one of the most spectacular sites in the Tsavo East National Park and has been featured by the BBC. The camp offers visitors an unforgettable opportunity to see and photograph African fauna and flora in this Eden. You can be a part of this real authentic and exciting African safari experience.

We will depart for Tsavo on Nov 18th after the morning yoga practice. The drive will take about five hours with few stop on the way for local shops and restaurants. On the way to Tsavo we will do a “sundowner”. We will drive from Watamu, enter the park and do some game viewing and stop for snacks/drinks for sun set by the river before arriving at lodge. Sundowner “provided by you” means that we will buy from local shop at Watamu (Chandarana) few juices, chips, samosas/dips or what ever we find and carry it in the cars for the sundown. That should not cost much extra.

We will arrive to Bigi’s Safari Camp in the afternoon and have a relaxed dinner surrounded by the wild life by the lake and river. On the 19th morning we will have a light yoga practice and pranayama by the river before taking the first private Safari drive. After the drive we will come back to Bigi’s for a breakfast, rest and lunch..and take a second “sunset” Safari drive. In the evening we will enjoy the dinner and have a relaxing meditation. On the 20th morning we will have a light yoga practice and praynayama before departing back to Watamu or to the Mombasa or Malindi airports.

Inclusive of:

– transportation by 4 x 4 Jeep with English speaking driver. Bottled water in car

– Park entry fees for 2 nights / 3 days

– Full board at camp (breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea/coffee)

– Light morning yoga, pranayama and evening meditation
